Dr. Jessica Albers
Jessica Albers, O.D. was born and raised in Iowa and recently moved to Cheyenne. She completed her undergraduate studies at Central College in Pella, Iowa where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She graduated Cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois where she was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and the Tomb and Key Honor Society. She completed an externship during her 4th professional year of optometry school at the Cheyenne Vision Clinic and is very excited to have joined the practice. Dr. Albers also completed externships at the VA Hospital in Newington, Connecticut, the Spectrios Institute for Low Vision in Illinois, and the Vision Enhancement Clinic in Springfield, Missouri. Dr. Albers is fully licensed to practice optometry in the states of Wyoming and Colorado. Dr. Albers is DEA certified to prescribe oral and topical medications to treat eye diseases and infections. Her interests include medical eye care, contact lenses, and emergency eye care. Dr. Albers is married to Cory Albers, a loan officer at Wyoming Bank and Trust. The two of them are pleased to be living in Wyoming. Outside of the office, Dr. Albers enjoys water skiing, hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Garrett Howell
Garrett Howell, O.D. grew up in Riverton Wyoming, graduating with honors from Riverton High School. Dr. Howell studied at the University of Wyoming and maintained Dean’s Honor Roll standing while providing for his family. His professional training was completed with Cum Laude honors at The Ohio State University College of Optometry and included rotations at the Columbus Ohio Veterans Hospital as well as participation in patient care at Cataract and LASIK surgery centers. Dr. Howell was inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa and participated in SVOSH (Student Volunteers for Optometric Service to Humanity) as well as outreach clinics which provide care for those with financial hardship. Dr. Howell is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Wyoming Optometric Association, carries licensure in Wyoming and Colorado and is DEA certified to prescribe oral and topical medication for the treatment of eye-related diseases. Dr. Howell and his wife, Jane, have three children; a daughter: Taylor, a son: Mason, and a daughter: Claira. Dr. Howell and his wife love living in Laramie because of its forward-minded people and small-town feel; they also enjoy the diversity of activities/programs that the University of Wyoming provides, and of course the proximity to the beautiful mountains. The Howell family enjoys the outdoors; hiking, biking, camping, and breathing the crisp mountain air.
Dr. Wells spent his early childhood in Florida before moving to Cheyenne at the age of 6. He is a graduate of Central High School and attended the University of Wyoming. His professional training occurred at the Southern California College of Optometry, where he graduated with distinction. He completed a residency in Primary Care/Ocular Disease at the Los Angeles Veterans Administration Hospital before joining the clinic in 1991. Dr. Wells is a consultant for Vistakon, and a faculty member of The Vision Care Institute in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Wells is an adjunct assistant professor for the Illinois College of Optometry and the Western University College of Optometry. He also serves as a clinical instructor for the University of Wyoming Family Practice Residency Program. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and served as President of the Board of Directors of the Wyoming Optometric Association. He also serves on the board of Needs Inc. of Cheyenne. Dr. Wells is licensed in Wyoming, and Colorado. Dr. Wells, O.D. has full accreditation and is DEA certified to prescribe oral and topical medications to treat eye diseases and infections. He is also the first and only VA residency trained optometrist in the state of Wyoming. When not working, he enjoys bow hunting, waterfowl hunting, and spending time with his wife, Gina, and their granddaughter.
Martin Carroll, O.D. is a Wyoming native and graduate of Cheyenne East High School. He obtained his Associates Degree from Laramie County Community College, a BS with Honors from the University of Wyoming, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Carroll has practiced here since 1981. He is a member of the Wyoming Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry. He has hospital privileges at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Dr. Carroll is licensed in Wyoming, Colorado, and California. Dr. Carroll has full accreditation and is DEA certified to prescribe oral and topical medications to treat eye diseases and infections. He served on the Board of Optometric Examiners for the State of Wyoming. Dr. Carroll is a clinical skills examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. In September 2010, he became a Fellow and was Board Certified by the American Board of Clinical Optometry. In 2011, Dr. Carroll became a Diplomat and was board certified by the American Board of Optometry by examination. Also, in 2011 he became board certified by the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry. He was the first optometrist in the state of Wyoming to become Board Certified. Dr. Carroll is a COPE reviewer for the Association of Regulator Boards of Optometry. He is a consultant for the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE). ACOE accredits Schools and Colleges of Optometry, Optometric Technician Programs, and Optometric Residency Programs. Marty is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Optometry for the Illinois College of Optometry and Western University College of Optometry. He is a clinical instructor for the University of Wyoming Family Practice Residency Program. In January 2010, Dr. Carroll was named the Optometrist of the Year by the Wyoming Optometric Association. Marty was raised in Cheyenne and was past president of the Frontier Lions Club, the Cheyenne Jaycees, and the Wyoming Optometric Association. He was named to the Cheyenne East High School Hall of Fame and was also featured in the Laramie County Community College Talon Magazine. Dr. Carroll loves sports and family. He is married to Claudia and has two daughters Jennifer and Lauren. Dr. Carroll's passion is to treat and educate patients about eye, vision, and body conditions and to train students to be doctors that their patients can see EYE to EYE with!
Josh LaHiff, O.D. is a partner at the Cheyenne Vision Clinic. Dr. LaHiff graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr. LaHiff is a Wyoming licensed optometrist with full accreditation and is DEA certified to prescribe oral and topical medications to treat eye diseases and infections. Dr. LaHiff has interests in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of dry eye patients. He is a consultant for Vistakon and Allergan pharmaceuticals. Dr. LaHiff is an adjunct assistant professor of the Illinois College of Optometry and Western University College of Optometry. He is a clinical instructor for the University of Wyoming Family Practice Residency Program. Dr. LaHiff was born and raised in Cheyenne. He attended Central High School and the University of Wyoming. His areas of concentration are contact lenses, medical eye care, and dry eye management. Josh's wife Corrina is a teacher at Sunrise Elementary School. They have two daughters. He enjoys sports and traveling.
