Monovision allows a patient to see at a distance and near without the use of bifocals.
This method of correction is very effective in the majority of patients.
Ones “fine” depth perception and “far” distance vision can be slightly compromised during and after adaptation, especially at night.
Adaptation to monovision occurs in just a few days (7-10), but one should use caution when driving at night or using tools and equipment that require depth perception
