Specialty Contact Lenses

We have doctors who are experts with specialty contact lenses!

Lenses like traditional gas permeable lenses and scleral contact lenses are commonly used in individuals who are unable to have adequate vision with glasses, surgery and soft contacts alone. From improving symptoms of dry eye disease to providing clear vision to those with high amounts of astigmatism, specialty contact lenses are a useful medical device.

  • Scleral Contact Lenses - Theses lenses have a larger diameter than soft contact lenses, which allows them to vaults over the surface of the eye instead of sitting directly on the cornea. The space that is formed from the vaulting of the lens, improves vision for individuals with keratoconus, irregular astigmatism, post surgical scarring and as a treatment for dry eyes.

  • Gas permeable contact lenses can help patients with dry eyes as well as help with corneal abnormalities.

  • Hybrid Contact Lenses - These lenses are a combination of soft and hard lenses allowing them to correct vision in abnormal corneas while maintaining the comfort of soft lenses.
